The Bill of Rights for the residents of Ontario nursing homes became law in 1987. In 1993, it became law for the residents of Ontario municipal and charitable homes for the aged. The Ontario government passed this Bill of Rights to make sure that long term care facilities are homes for the people who live in them.
Lanark Heights Long Term Care is committed to upholding the rights as defined in the booklet, developed by Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO) in conjunction with the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly (ACE). Download the booklet.
